What we know about MetaZoo Towers

Mike Waddell first mentioned Towers in an announcement on May 30th. He stated that the tournaments would have a $100k payout and 10 in interviews. We haven’t heard anything about them, but players are frothing at the mouth for more details. So let’s dig into the details we have so far with what we know about MetaZoo Towers. 

 

There will be at least 10 Tower locations in this world region.

In an interview with Argos Anonymous on July 27th, Mike Waddell said that the Tower locations would be in this region of the world. The key word here is ‘region,’ meaning they are located in the United States and possibly in all American continents. South America has many stunning locations, and MetaZoo would benefit from potentially having a significant event. With Mike at the helm, we can expect anything to happen where the Towers locations.

Towers may be a way to qualify for Caster’s Cup 2023.

We need details on how Caster’s Cup 2023 invitations will go out or how players will obtain a qualification. Most of that is from the prize cards given to the top 3 from Caster’s Cup 2022. The prize cards state that the owners get an invitation to Caster’s Cup 2023. Mike has mentioned in multiple interviews that Towers may be a way to qualify.  

MetaZoo is buying land to build the towers.

Mike has stated that MetaZoo is purchasing land to build the Towers. Building Towers is a massive endeavor, especially if there are 10 locations. Buying land generally takes a bit of time, and construction materials are suffering a shortage throughout the United States. I don’t know if all ten towers will be going by Caster Cup 2023 because Mike has also stated that Caster Cup 2023 would be around the same time of year as the last one. However, I can see at least a few ready by Caster Cup 2023.  

Each Tower will represent an Aura type.

On July 22nd, in a discord announcement, MetaZooGames stated that 10 Tower Casters would reign supreme over an Aura Type. There are multiple possibilities for this to matter. Will each Tower require players to play a particular aura type? Will the winner be forced to defend with that Tower’s aura type? Right now, this leaves more questions than answers.  

These details are the majority of information on Towers. Of course, some of this may change over time. Players are constantly asking for more details. The year is almost over, and we are left wondering about the future of these big tournaments. While Collect-a-Con Denver is the last of the year, no solid details exist on MetaZoo ran tournaments after that. I’m sure we’ll have information soon because MetaZoo knows players are looking forward to these significant events.
